Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to consider the importance of some concepts elaborated by Simone Weil and Hannah Arendt within Roberto Esposito’s thought. Arendt’s philosophy gives him the opportunity to weave some important conceptual constellations, which concern plurality, revolution and foundation. While, Weilian analysis of politics and conflict gives him a lot of food for thought, also in relation to the question of “instituting thought”. However, the main concept that Esposito decides to explore with both Hannah Arendt and Simone Weil is the origin and, in particular, the origin of the political, in regard to which he follows the different paths proposed by the two thinkers.
